Fall Meeting Recap

After one addition to the proposed bylaws, bylaws were passed unanimously, along with each of the four candidates to accept nominations for office.

The group steering committee is:

Chair - Bill Carton

Vice Chair - Mark Greear

Secretary - Kathy Robertson

Treasurer - Ryan Harris

Officer Travis Schachtel discussed law enforcement issues of interest to all neighborhoods, and offered advice for scam prevention and when to report observations to 911 versus non emergency numbers. 

We had an unofficial discussion with Bill McConnel, previous NA Chair who moved from the neighborhood pre-pandemic. One of his recommendations to enhance meeting engagement is to hold a candidate forum next election season

We have not yet nominated anyone to the Citizen Involvement Committee. If that is something you are interested in, please contact us via administrator@ocsena.com

During the next few weeks, the steering committee will schedule the meeting dates for the coming year and send those out for you to add to your calendar.

We will also be working on our fall goal of the neighborhood association adopting South End road. We'd love your help when we set days for cleanups.

Also had an unofficial discussion with our Mayor McGriff about city and neighborhood issues. I believe it was she who suggested a prize for funniest "Adopt-A-Road" trash item.

05/29/25 OCSENA Reactivation Meeting

This will be our first meeting towards reactivating the South End Neighborhood Association.

This is an open meeting for anyone who resides in the South End neighborhood of Oregon City.

At this meeting we will have a short presentation about the history and purpose of Neighborhood Associations in Oregon City. 

We will also have have two guest speakers who will talk about how the city interacts with NA's:

Hannah Schmidt - Community Engagement Specialist  

Officer Travis Schachtel - Oregon City Police Department

One of our goals for this meeting is to form a working group of those interested in leadership positions within this association.

We also hope to have some open discussion and hear from you about our neighborhood, and what we can do as a group to support each other.
